Sizing: The Instinct from Altra Running fits just a hair short from from a traditional running shoe. If you have a traditional running shoe with a full thumbnail width between your toe and the end of the shoe, then stick with that sizing. Should it be any less than that, then go up 1/2 size.

Best road distance trainer I've found

I've spent the past 2 year running almost exclusively in Inov-8 155s, but was looking for a zero-drop shoe that provided a little more cushion for some of my longer runs.

The Instinct 1.5s are amazing. The expanded toe box gives me plenty of space, but my foot never feels like it's sliding around inside the shoe. I recently swapped out the 5mm sculpted insole for the 3mm strengthen insole (both come w/ the shoe), and love the results I'm seeing already.

The shoe's a little heavier than what I would want for a racing shoe for shorter distances, but would definitely recommend for a marathon.
Just enough cushion. Toe FREEDOM!

Just completed my first 10k in these. Love the toe-freedom. The ample toe-box allows my toes and fore-foot the room they need to do what the know how to do.

This being my first "minimalist" shoe, I appreciate the touch of squish in the sole to help me through my transition from the dark side.

Build quality seems good. Looking forward to many miles.
