Sizing: The Instinct from Altra Running fits just a hair short from from a traditional running shoe. If you have a traditional running shoe with a full thumbnail width between your toe and the end of the shoe, then stick with that sizing. Should it be any less than that, then go up 1/2 size.

Still a great shoe.

Like other reviewers have said, the fit is a little better than the old Instincts. They are also less dorky looking.

The old Instincts were a very durable shoe. I put close to a 1000 miles on them. Granted, I maybe should have replaced them sooner, but I ran my last race in them a few weeks ago and set a PR.

I transitioned from being a heel striker to mid-foot strike on the older Instinct design. Just a few runs on this newer shoe but it feels great. Lots of space around the toes which is nice.

I am very leased with the new Altra 1.5. The fit is better than the old Instincts. Great smooth ride. In these shoes it is very easy to run with a midfoot strike.

This shoe just feels right. I can feel more muscles working with less impact and no aches or pains.
